Groundhog sleeping underneath the ground

February second, he wakes and looks around

Climbs up from his hole so sleepily

"That's my shadow - It's back to bed for me!"

Dear Friends,

February 2nd (Candlemas/Groundhog Day) is just around the corner, and with it two of our beloved celebrations! This Friday, and next Monday, your child will be participating in a day of all things groundhog! With our fun song (see above), some groundhog ears to wear and possibly some fun groundhogish treats to make together, we will explore every possible dimension of these subterranean slumbering friends!

On the same day (as if we could handle any more excitement) we will be dipping beeswax candles in observance of Candlemas Day;

You are encouraged to join us at 11:30am (please reserve the driveway parking for families with babies) and help guide your little one in the process! This is a wonderful event, during which the children learn the benefit of still and focused patience. With the room smelling heavily of warm beeswax, they observe their candle growing slowly, with every dip into the tub of molten wax. Please focus your attention on your little one, and on the process at hand! This is not an event to catch up with friends and for chatting on the sidelines! We are looking forward to it!

Our Little Explorers will make a candle on Tuesday, Feb. 6th. They will be helped by their 1st grade friends!

The week of February 19th is off for our Winter Break. School resumes on Monday, February 26th.

Looking ahead, we are very excited for the 1st Annual Whuppity Scoorie Celebration! This obscure Scottish festival will be brought to Westville, NY in what is sure to become a new favorite! Mark your calendars for Friday, March 1st and don't miss this epic Festival!  Please let us know if you plan on dropping off your child at 9am for this school day, or whether you plan to come only for the celebration at 11:30, and bring your little one with you! We hope for a BIG showing!

Finally for this newsletter, February 15th is a planning/conference day for staff. There is no school.

Looking forward to many wonderful and memorable celebrations!

Kerstin xx

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
